Headphone options

I've got a Deus on the way from a member here that is coming with the WS4 headphones. I hunt a lot of woods and want a full over the ear pair as well. Here are the options I've found:

WS5- Look good but not in the budget

Gray ghost with adaptor- Module hangs off the side. GG are typically tight fitting.

Deteknix- Module fits flush but battery life isn't great right?

At this point I'm leaning towards deteknix but haven't seen any instock.

I just bought a pair. Be here in a day or so. Also have the quest pro hd. Very comfortable also have the puck adapter for use of ear buds.. great for hot weather.

Deteknix has worked great for me. I really haven't noticed battery usage being a problem because it uses the WS4 module battery. The sound is not as crisp as the WS4 backphones but they are comfortable and work great. Just my thoughts.

Detector doodads look great and guarantee awesome sound. Mine will be here tomorrow so I will know more then.. but they look like they made strong and speakers swivel so you can wear around your neck on hot days. The ws4 feel horrible and the deteknix are the best feeling headphones I've ever had. Sounds are pretty good also

I HAVE THE DETEKNIX, AN THE WS5, AND MOST TIME I USE THE DETEKNIX . THEY FIT OVER MY EARS' BETTER THEN THE WS5. AN SOUND JUST AS GOOD.

I use these and prefer them over any of the others I have use Vances Muffs "too tight" and sound no better Grey Ghost which I still have too much of a Distorted tone . WS4s are great but don't stay put so I started with the DooDads and they have not failed me in any way

Hey Barry. Do the doodads hurt your ears since they are not full cup? Just curious as mine will be here tomorrow..

I have the WS4's the WS5's and the Deteknix. I much prefer the WS5's for comfort, sound quality and reduced ambient sounds around me. The Deteknix are a close second and I've had no problem with them holding up to lots of not so nice use. I think they are winners for the money. If your going to be looking for deep whispers of old targets the WS4's are no way to go. They go on top of the ear and if your in a noisy place or windy you will miss targets. Anyone who says otherwise just doesn't realize what they have missed.

the ws4 are fragile and break at the folding joint and are not covered by warrenty..

Detecting DooDads are awesome!! Great fit and perfect sound. I have the ws4's, ws5's and doodads. The DooDads are my primary use phones except in hot weather.

have used the deus back phones ws4 from day dot so used to the sound and the Deteknix/Quest are the same sound good for winter or the beach etc.., and its funny I would probably hate the sound they make on a minelab .. guess its what we get used too and what we are hunting for and where we are hunting for it..

I like to hear whats going on around me at times and the ws4 works great for that and in the heat..

I just grab a few pairs of ws4 deus back phones for when they fail and can use the speakers for some home made jobs if i feel that way inclined ....or fix them which ever comes 1st...

so no hard fast rules just what ever works :buds:

thanks for sharing you're thoughts everyone..

AJ
