Headphones

I was out detecting today with my ace250. Off in the distance I could see some people standing next to their vehicle. I could hear music playing and it happened to be a Michael Jackson song. I thought wow I can hear that pretty clear from where the people were standing. I took my headphones off to listen how loud it really was and I couldnt hear it anymore. Went back to detecting again and there was that song still playing. I finally figured out, it was coming from my headphones. I use the Ghost phones with volume control. When I would lift my detector into the air the sound would get louder. Has anyone else experienced this before? Don't know if it made a difference, but I was near a tall tower for some phone company.
