One way would be to buy the upper shaft for the new GT for $30 and add the handle assembly for $18 as your lower shaft for the Elite plus the armrest with the control box mounting bracket from your Elite will work as it is the same as the GT. These can be ordered from most all the Minelab dealers as they may not stock them, but can order one in.
The other way would be to contact David at Dixie one of the many fine sponsors of these fourms and order one of the ones the straight shaft he has as they are good to.

Excalibur Straight Shaft w/Knob Guard
With locking shaft clamp. Keeps lower rod tight.
Excalibur has a heavy coil, and there's always a little warble between the lower shaft, and upper. The new compresion clamp stabilizes the lower shaft.
The new designed knob guard does a real good job of protecting the knobs. Certainly helps with the knob problem with these units.
