Yes, Summer has come with a vengeance and the Midwest and East is suffering because of it! Arizona has forest fires and burned as much acreage as the whole as Phoenix! Are you near the big fire, Steve?? May God Bless! Amen! Ma Betty

we had two cookers in a row then back to 70 today. A welcome relief. looks like possible severe weather on Friday though!

Stay ubnder the AC. We are down in Louisiana this week - ac & all but nice to go out also. Lots of kids BBall games. steve in so az

Glad Steve that you are visiting your son and family....but do you know about the huge fires they are having with burning acreage larger than the size of Phoenix? Hope your home isn't in danger and you and Nancy won't have to suffer with the smoke from the fires! May God Bless and enjoy those grandkids, as they grow up too quickly! Amen! Ma Betty

Well, Chgo area Mike, I will try to stay cool! The weather is partly cloudy, today, and maybe cooler but haven't checked to see if it has dropped from the mid and high 90's! Pool, Pool???? Ya gotta be kidding, if I had one I wouldn't go in swimming, as I haven't been swimming for years (don't even go in my son's and daughter-in-law's pool)! I don't want anything that would cost $$$ or have to spend time cleaning! If I ever do feel like swimming I will head for my son's house who lives 5 miles away and he can clean the pool..Not Me! Don't even know if he can afford the upkeep on it any more as his hours have been cut....just like many others have but does still have a job which causes him to pay a lot in gas expenses! Guess most everyone is suffering, as well as we Senior Citizens, who haven't had a raise in two years and the Medicare Increase may take most or all of it this year! Oh well, this helps us to pray more for Jesus to meet ours and our loved ones needs! May God Bless and keep you safe in your travels! Amen! Ma Betty

Been in the mid 90's around here, we've broken many records so far. Our grass is beginning to die and the poor farmers crops...sigh. It's pitiful really, crops were planted extremely late due to the flooding and now, they are suffering from a drought. Pitiful. Hey Ma...you can do what Loren and I did. It's rather redneck, but we don't care. Went to the Dollar Store and bought a cheap sprinkler and set it up in the shade and had a blast playing in the water. Nothing to clean, no chemicals to deal with and it cost 4 bucks!

Trying to stay cool here too, Ma. I have never liked summer or even warm weather. It's so hot here. I just try to hang on every year through the summer and then come to life in the winter!

Lisa

Hey, Liz, I already have one of those (actually two) but too hot to go out and mess with them by moving them for watering different areas of the lawns! I don't like getting wet with the cold water any more....most older people can't stand the heat nor the cold! I need to move to a middle of the road climate but don't know where that is without some kind of disaster happening! I will take my showers (like baths but can't get in or out of the tub...my legs are too weak) and be satisfied with them and sitting under the Family Room ceiling fan while watching TV or using my Computer! I don't get out much but I know I should....I always was a stay at home gal anyway, so don't like to force myself to do that now that I cannot go MD'ing and dig the trash with some goodies in the midst! The older I get, the lazier I get! May God Bless you to stay well and very active into your 90's and 100's! :) Amen! Ma Betty

Hi Lisa, I know what you mean, as most of MO's summers are very hot and humid and like Liz the records have been broken here, also, and is unusually hot for this time of year! Cannot imagine what July, Aug and Sept will be like...but with this crazy weather maybe it will be cooler or ya never know could be like winter with colder temps! Just have to wait awhile and the weather will change....whether it be better or worse! May God Bless! Amen! Ma Betty

Thanks Dk, I'm trying but sure dont have much energy! May God Bless! Amen! Ma Betty
