I have been using a fisher 1236x2 for the last 12 months, and think its a brilliant machine.I like the tones and the pinpointing is excellent,i am however thinking of getting another fisher.Maybe one that goes deeper than my 1236,which machine would you boys reccommend.
Welldone fisher,great machines. UKman

Though the control box is bigger & not balanced quite as well, the 1270 will get you amazing depth, especially in the UK where you can crank it up because of no mineralization. Also the 1270 has an awsome trigger pinpoint rather than the button on the box. Unless you wanna move up to target ID.... then you have even more options like Excel, CZ, C$. Basically you won't go wrong with any Fisher <IMG SRC="/metal/html/stroll.gif" BORDER=0 width=32 height=32 ALT="s~"> What part of the UK are ya from? Can you post some of your 1236 finds? Like some hammered? I have been to Colchester a couple times.....HH, Bill

Nice hammered bill, dont have a camera just yet but am trying to sort one out.I have never needed to use the pin point button on the 1236,i know exactly where the target is by swinging the coil over it.This way of pin pointing with the fisher has never failed, wait for the bleep at the bottom of the coil (the part nearest my feet) and its bang on everytime.
I am looking at getting the coinstrike or the cz?,but what are they like for rejecting iron. And will i get extra depth with these machines, sorry for asking so many questions.
Bill,i am from north wales. And can anyone tell me why i cant access some of the posts on this forum.
Thanks to all who have replied, hope to hear more soon. Thanks, UKman

Here's my 5 cents worth of advice.
Have used the C$, CZ's & 1270. If you need a machine that will find the small stuff the 1270 and Coinstrike are my picks. Nothing against the CZ as they are great coin getters but, the other two will outdo it on small low conductive targets and it needs to be swept slow like the Minelabs in iron to avoid falsing.
Large fields + small targets...C$ and 1270!
Tom

I'd be interested to see how a CZ3D would do in the UK. It's made for older locations but large amounts of trash might drive you crazy.
