Howdy peace falcon!
Are you an eTRAC newbie?
I'll assume you are since you don't mention.

Looks like you're a beach hunter since you're after gold. If so start out with the stock beach pattern.
If not a beach hunter, i'd start out with the stock coin pattern. It'll still catch most gold and aluminum junk too.
Keep in mind gold coins are extremely rare to find but once in a while some lucky ones do.
Also keep in mind, the eTRAC struggles at times to detect 'some certain' gold chains depending on how it was buried, the link types, size, etc.

Auto noise cancel, use auto+3 sensitivity and the factory default settings the first few times out, sweep low and slow but not too slow.
IMO, its not a good idea to guide you into the more advanced settings/techniques til you put some miles on that eTRAC then and only then will they make sense.
You'll get totally confused and frustrated with advanced settings and be tempted to wrap that eTRAC around a tree like i almost did the first time i detected a trashy park.

thank you very much ironsight
actually ,i,m new on my e-trac but i have a little information how to use it & how to hunt
but i have a question in my mind

what is the best (FE-CO ) for the gold ?
that is what i mean
tx a lot

Ahh OK!

I'm not a gold hunter since i primarily detect trashy parks. I'd have to dig up a thousand pull tabs to find one piece of gold. No fun at all at least for me.
Gold will 'typically' reside somewhere in the 12-1 to 12- up to the higer conductive numbers.

For example these are typical ID numbers taken from an eTRAC ID chart i found somewhere on the internet:
gold pendant 12-1
gold chain 12-3
gold ring 12-5
large gold ring 12-31 14K
1$ gold coin 12-11
5$ gold coin 12-31
20$ gold coin 12-43

As you can see gold can reside all over the map depending on size, form factor and alloy. Nickels and aluminum junk also share most of those IDs also.
Be prepared to dig a lot of junk to find gold. Also those typical IDs are for shallow to moderate depth targets. As targets get deeper, IDs get iffier.

Maybe someone who actually finds a lot of gold will chime in.
