Being that 95% of us are Minelab users this may not be the best place for you to get the most correct answer. You may want to stop by or call a store that sells both brands and get their feedback. Not that you'll get an unbiased opinion there either.

I chose Minelab over Tesoro being a previous Tesoro owner and two other people in my family did the same right after I received my 705.

For me the answer is simple. What I want is the most information, and between the two it's no contest.

FWIW, I gave my last Tesoro away.

Never had a Tesoro or Laser but have had Red Heats in the past which are similar i have been told. But i am a Minelab man.

I had a Tesoro Toltec 100 and I still have a Tesoro Cutlass II in addition to my 705. While it's not exactly fair comparing the Toltec because of it's age, I have found lots more with my 705 and its a whole lot lighter.I considered a Tesoro before I bought my 705 because of the lifetime warranty, I decided on the 705 and don't regret it for a second.

Had a tejon and 705, Still have the 705. I like the 705 way better.
