Just wanted to say hello to everyone. I have been posting my beliefs on the friends and finds forum, but some of the others posts have troubled me. I wanted to go where I am already welcomed, with my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ.
Thanks

Tell us about yourself. Where ya from? etc...

God bless.

Hello,
Yes I'm pretty much snowed in right now. I'm more fortunate than my brother, who has been without power for several days now. A little bit about me, well, I'm an ex police officer form Southern Illinois. I'm married, and have a perfect 2 year old son. I am a member of the Church of Christ. I strayed away from God for nearly 10 years, and then I met the Angel that is my wife. 6 months after we met, I was in a car accident that ended my law enforcement carer, and should have killed me by what everyone has said. I was spared, and didn't know why. I started to appreciate life more, and then 5 months down the road I found out I was going to be a father, which is all I have ever wanted to be. My main goal in life is to make sure I lead a good example for my wife and son, so we can spend forever in Heaven together. I had to go back to college, so that I could get another job that was minimal in manual labor due to my physical condition. I'm now less than 2 semesters away from a degree in Elementary Education. I can hopefully make a difference in a child's life through a mixture of love, education and compassion. I'm pretty new to detecting. I took it up because I have always loved history, and because I'm limited to what I can do physically now. I love to detect. I use an X-Terra 70 that actually lays on a bed in our extra bedroom (my wife thinks this is a little weird), but I want to take care of it so that it will last. Thank you for your questions. I can't wait to get to know all of you.
God Bless

Welcome aboard Bob, you have definitely came to the right place!

I posted a couple of times on that forum also and so many of the other posts were repugnant to me I just dropped out of sight.

My oldest daughter just started teaching recently (2 years ago) in Washington State and she loves it.

Hello bobdylan...Welcome to the CMD Forum.....I think I saw your post on the Bottle lForum and even posted a comment to it but I think I was wrong....which is nothing unusual for this old lady, Ma! God Bless and hope you post often and do great finding the nice goodies!

Thanks everyone. I remember you Ma Betty, because I actually just saw where you posted today. I actually forgot about my bottle post, but thanks for trying to help. I just put new pics of the bottle up today. Mohayes, I'm glad we both left that forum. The things that some people put on the Friends and finds have no place in my heart. And Pete, rentasquid, SEMPERFI61, Jeff, Greg, Mike and Steve, thanks for all of the welcomes.
God Bless

I think you will be blessed here. This is a great bunch of friends! I am a teacher too. I hope you will enjoy being a teacher and will be a great role model for your students.

Big Howdy to you ........ and welcome to the CMD forum !! I'm a fairly new guy on here myself and you won't regret coming here. The folks on here are quite friendly, supportive, and have a passion for Jesus. I didn't really visit any of the other forums on here and after I saw the word "Christian" as I looked around on this site I knew this was where I wanted to be ....... and from the way you spoke I'm glad I didn't visit that other forum at all. May peace and blessings come to you and your family in the days ahead. And again, welcome brother !!

Welcome home brother! Thank you for your service as a police officer and thank you for your future service as a teacher.

I'm new here too. I've been here about a month now. I was very happy to see that a Christian metal detecting forum actually existed! The best of both worlds :)

Thanks to everyone for making me feel so welcome. Paul, I wish I had some finds to show, but I'm surrounded by ice and snow at the moment. John316, thanks for the comments, I was proud to serve as a police officer, and can not wait to teach. TreasureDigger, great to hear you are a teacher. My family and I are going to Gulf Shores this summer. Save some finds for me!! Also thanks to dobbie, kcroyalnut, and seeker41.
God Bless you all
