I went to the dr yesterday for my checkup and passed my vitals ....Oxygen level (9:geek: blood pressure (113/70) and temp (97.:geek: so was feeling pretty good...a beautiful day with cooler weather in the 80's (a cold spell) But you woundn't know it today, as I am so physically tired and ill from going to get my meds filled and doing my shopping! Did get the groceries all in the house and cold items put away...but had leg cramps most of the night and up and down to the bathroom (older people visit bathrooms a lot, anyway this ole lady does)??  Therefore, I slept a long time this morning and didn't make it up until afternoon after taking two aspirins and going back to bed!

I sure wish I had the energy I once had, but I've always been on the sickly side even when a child at home and had and have to rest a lot but Praise God in Jesus' joy He gives me strength to keep on, keepin' on for Him and since I am still walking and able to go (although not often) and I'm still living so all is okay and that is what I tell the dr and nurses when asked how I am! :) Many others are unable, who are younger than I am, but some older are also better and still living and going and/or working way up in their 90's and even their 100's! Only God knows our numbered days on earth and our mortality so we just have to accept life as it comes and do the best we can with or without help....I am sooooo glad I was able to hep my brother, Cliff, while he was with me and when he became so deathly ill and then died because of his illnesses! My heart goes out to those who have no help and are stuck away in nursing homes and then forgotten by their families! May God have mercy upon them and all of us! Amen! Ma Betty

Your blood pressure is near perfect. And that's a big help to your system for all knds opf problems.
I get a lot of pains, esp after digging a lot. But they pass and rest will get us up again. We are planning on moving to Louisiana in 4-5 years. Our only family, our son, will be called upon for help as we get older. Right now we are helping Nancy's mom & dad. So everyone takes a turn in life :) Steve in so az

YEP,FOLKS ITS TERRIBLE TO GET OLD:i am right behind you betty,my problem is GOUT man it hurts, now my right hip keep acting up.rest is very important for us teenagers:laugh:every day it gets a little tougher.my pastor had a spell two weeks ago ,its was high blood pressure and he is 40 lbs over weight and only 37 years old.i got SOCKS older than him:rofl:i am a diabetic also but i have to have my DR.PEPPERS.
the way things look in this world every one i know is packing heat (gun).crime is up 100% cannot trust no body :confused:but my lord jesus is soon coming, the signs are everywhere.
got rid of my old small chest type freezer its 20 years old and it still works but don't trust it much longer.gave to to a young couple who needed it,bought one same size and have slowing started filling with small sacks of rice, sugar, beans, flour.little by little.next are can goods that have a self life of 5 years.the warnings are out be prepared for the worse.guess will have to give up my favoite coffee " dunkin donuts" wow----they went up $5.00 per bag:nopity:all animal feed up 50% or more.it will not be long ranchers will be dumping their cows.LORD HAVE MERCY ON US.:heh:

still kickin ma! Keep on keeping on!

Yes, Bill, I went for groceries last night and some prices are the same but some have went through the roof! The main staples for families food fixings are out rageous, I sure am glad I don't have children to feed and feel sorry for those without a job or just low paying jobs! Never had gout but heart it is very painful! As the body wears out from mileage and old age it is like cars beginning to get difficult to start with more creaks and squeeks...my dad always said it wasn't the age but the mileage he put on his body and it is true as he was a very hard worker and in his 60's was going up and down on the pond banks and working in the fields....he sold the farm in the 1970's, as he had emphysema and could no longer take care of it nor mom either! As far as your freezer being 20's years of age mine was bought in 1964....an Amana upright and is still working at 47 years of age but never no how much longer! God is good and has been good to me...my hot water is the same one that was here when the house was purchased in 1974! Did replace the furnace and the A/C in 2008 and the roof was replaced twice in 1981 and just before Cliff came up in Oct of 2005! So by God's graces He has kept me going after allowing me to keep the house in the divorce and after my ex left in 1986! I pray you get over the Gout soon and all goes better for you! I like the one about your socks being older than your Pastor.....I have clothes older than him, too! Sickness and diseases come at all ages...even babies and young children! May we each be blessed of the Lord by leaning on and trusting in Jesus more and more! Amen! Ma Betty

Thanks Mike and, yes, Ma is still kicking but not very high, for if I did I would fall backwards onto the floor and then I couldn't get up! :) May God Bless and I pray your son is doing okay after his head injury! :Amen! I had headaches for many years after I hit my head on the dashboard and put a dent in it after being hit by another driver in their car going through a Red Light, when Susan and David were still very young! We went to hospital and got checked out but don't think an x-ray was taken at the time, as we seemed to be okay just shook up and bruised but I have started to have some terrific head and neckaches after being in bed and sleepless many times! I sure do get sick from them....but not like the Migraines that I had during my younger years! Stress causes a lot of illness to the body, mind and soul and that's why we really need Jesus' peace and comforting love! Amen! Ma Betty

Good for you, Ma!

Lisa

Thank you Lisa and Greg, but I still get very weak and tired too often and when I do too much at once, I end up suffering and am ill several days! I just wish that the dr would find out what is really wrong with me and prescribe the correct meds instead of experimenting on me like a guiney pig....sooo many of the meds I end up getting very ill because of being allergic to them or their causing some other illness! Jesus is the best Physician and never gives us anything to make us feel worse but always better! Amen! Ma Betty

MA,I hope this finds you feeling Better. God Bless you,I'm Praying for you..........

Thank you Boo and Martin and, Yes, I can only do the best I can! I didn't sleep again last night from oversleeping the day before (after being soo tired from shopping) and I am really tired now....will be heading for bed earlier tonight and I hope and pray I do a lot of snoozing before daylight arrives for tomorrow! Lot of it is depression and I've been without my anti-depressants again, but will be back on them as soon as I can get back on my regular routine! Right now, I am not thinking too clearly...but I think that is all the time these days! May God Bless! Amen! Ma Betty

Thanks, DK, And Yes as long as I am still in my mortal body I have work to do for the Lord...the same as each of us who are saved in Christ Jesus! Amen! Ma Betty
