being alive and able to walk, talk, see and hear, though not so good these days!

We are having fun (??) tearing apart an old sleeper-bed sofa purchased new in 1964. It is too heavy to get up the basement stairs and have put in a drop ceiling, sooooo we have removed the metal parts and springs to take to the scrap metal place and have lots of cotton batting and foam sponge along with the material in bags for trash pick-up! Now Cliff is trying to remove all the wood and have it for use if needed. Still have the springs from the back to remove, more material and batting but we are getting there....just started this afternoon....and became too tired to continue! Must be a million (more or less) staples in it...anyway it has lots of them! Not as difficult to take apart as I had been dreading it would be! Wouldn't be able to do it by myself though, as I don't have the strength! Will be moving some things to the Cuba, MO, home soon and checking on things and turning off the A/C and the furnace on! Will be down to 45 here, tonight!

We took newpapers and shredded paper over to the bins and I wanted to metal detect so badly I could hardly stand it, but we had errands to run and had to get groceries! Even Aldi's, which is supposed to be cheaper, is going sky high on their prices! Less money to spend and everything costs more to buy! But Praise God and Thank You, Jesus, because You protect us and provide for our needs!

If we worry and cry out in dispair, God says, Oh ye of little faith! I hope I have a lot of faith to endure and overcome all things!

God Bless!

Prayers on the way! :)

I am amazed many times when the 'unexpected' happens. Several times at work I have had no money to buy lunch and one can only eat 'catfish sandwiches' cold so many times. But God provided. Others have bought me lunch. I have thanked them, thanked God and asked Him to bless them as they have done for Jesus by taking care of one of God's kids. (Me).

One who claims to be 'religious' and tries to do good is the one who uses the Lord's name in vain so many times. Disturbs my spirit and I pray for her. On the other hand there is a sweet lady who doesn't profess anything but treats me well. The first shall be last and the last shall be first. The first claims she knows the Lord and does good works. But good works alone will not get one into Heaven. The kind spirit of the other is a blessing to me and am sure she knows Jesus. God has me there at the hotel for a reason. My hours have been cut back now. Fewer activities going on and the next major work time will be during the holidays.

I know the feeling of wanting to get out to detect and then not doing so because other priorities come up. Sounds like a majpr project dismantling a bed. Keeping you all in my prayers.

Thank you Mike! I'm a hanging in there but where I don't know! :) Oh yes, I am hanging with the Lord, for I would be nothing or could do nothing without Him! I try to keep on the sunny side of life....that is in the glorious light of Jesus!

God Bless!

Thank you Pete for your prayers and your post! I, too, find religious people who serve their religion, but not God's people and then others who don't say much, but are the sweetest and kindest people you would ever want to meet or know..they wouldn't think twice in helping someone in need! My brother, Larry, was like that...never had much to say but did praise God...and would help whoever truly needed his help! He was always ready to lend a helping hand but as you know he took his own life beause of deep depression and we still miss him so much! Only God knows how much he was suffering and couldn't go on living in this world! The Lord is fair, so I know I will see him again but if not, I will never remember him, as there is no sadness nor tears in heaven and to know our loved ones aren't there would be very sorrowful to bear!

Sorry your hours have been cut but keep trusting in and leaning on Jesus, Who supplies our every need, and will never leave nor forsake us, as long as we cling to Him! God Bless and hope you and Sherry are well and Casey and hubby, too! Hope she is doing okay and feeling good in her pregnacy! A baby girl???? That's what I feel in my spirit....a beautiful granddaughter but I could be wrong as Ive been wrong before! :)

God Bless!

No, no coins and we would have seen or heard them, as I have tile on a concrete floor, sooo any noise would be heard like the bolts and etc taken out of the ironworks of the hide-a-bed! It has always been used by my family and nothing fell out of our pockets! :) I have cleaned it well in the past years and if there were any coins found, I don't remember! But an old horsehair sofa was given to us when we were first married and I found two quarters in it. I asked the lady who gave it to me if she wanted the money back and she said NO! Just think they were silver quarters, too, because my ex and I were married in 1955! I am sure we spent them on necessities! Also the vacuum cleaners may hold coins that were vacuumed up and the washing machine and clothes dryer! I've found paper money in the washing machine and hung the dollar bills up to dry! Probably spent them too! Oh well there was a lot of silver coins at one time a person could have saved for a greater gain, but Jesus is the best future gain of all because He gives us eternal life! Praise God and Thank You, Jesus! Blessed be the name of the Lord, from Whom all blessings flow! Amen!

God Bless!

I could help out with the physical stuff. I'm just a big dumb Irishman that God granted with a strong back and willing hands. I pray for strength and endurance for you and Cliff. May the Lord raise up some willing individuals to help out.

She was so excited to get the ultrasound and one of the pics shows the new arrivals face!

Won't know for awhile yet what the little one will be. They do have to move out of their motel room....fungus! But we heard yesterday that Josh will be the new manager for the motel and that he and Casey will be moving into another much larger unit with a full kitchen. They originally feared they would be evicted. They paid their rent in advance but somehow the owners never got the money. The old manager was fired. Josh was doing all his work for him and the owners realized they were paying the wrong guy so he is gone and Josh is the new manager. That is a great step up for them,,,,and no rent either.

Thank you for your prayers, TreasureDigger, and welcome to the forum if you are new but if not welcome anyway and please post often! :)

God Bless!

Thank you, Malaquin, for wanting to help and you certainly are not a dumb Irishman, for you have the Lord and godly wisdom and as for a stong back Praise the Lord for His goodness and willing hands won't be used in idleness which is the devil's workshop! Serving God in any capacity is a blessing indeed, so thank you again! Cliff and I are Irish and German. Mom's families, both father and mother, came from Ireland and Scotland, so with having red hair and tempers, which God has helped us control, we certainly are of Irish heritage! Dad's mom was Pensylvania Dutch, which is German, so our tempers come from both sides of the family..... But God has tempered us and we are stronger in faith and not so temperamental as we were growing up with an angry and strick father! We will be okay and thanks for your prayers! We may be slow in getting ready to sell this house and move to the new one, but we'll getter done if we don't pass on to God too soon! :)

God Bless!

Thank you, Pete, for posting about Casey and Josh! She sounds excited about the baby and those ultrasounds are something else...never existed when I was pregnant with my three children and no way to know if a boy or girl with each one! Knowledge has sure increased with people running to and fro like the Bible says!

Praise God and Thank You, Jesus, for answering our prayers for Pete, Sherry, Casey and Josh! You are so awesome to work all things together for the good to those who love you and that are the called according to Your purpose! Amen!

Pete....the Lord is working in your families' lives and He is taking care of Casy and Josh! I think it is wonderful that they are moving into a larger place with a bigger kitchen, that she will need to take care of the baby and to cook for the family! With him as manager and free rent, God has sure blessed and blessed! I pray all keeps working out for each of you and as a family! Praise the Lord for He is good! Evil never wins in the end!

God Bless!
