Help - Digging in water on rocky beach

GreatDigs

New member
Any good tips on what to use when trying to retrieve targets under shallow surf, on a rocky beach. The rocks are small, but densely packed. I normally hunt using the Stealth Scoop - it is an excellent beach scoop for most conditions; however, on this section of the beach, because of the rocks and it's large size, it's like trying to use a shovel to dig pavement. I just ordered an inexpensive camping fold able pick and shovel to try it out. Any ideas?

Hey GD,

Go with an entrenching tool. The idea of scooping rocks and chipping a nice stone on a ring because they were acting like a tumbler in your scoop
is not a good idea. Predator Tools makes a real good e-tool.

you get a signal and move the rocks by hand. I have found many many rings and coins that way. Always glad to help!!
