Help Finding old bottle dumps?????

Cjprice

I recently moved to Southwest Florida, and could use some help researching where to look for old bottle dumps around the Ft. Myers, Lee county area. Thanks for any information you may have!!!!

Gi'day Chris,
I don't live in Floria, and I'm not aware of the type of history you have, but perhaps you could find some information on locations of old city dumps from the by-gone era. Check out for old townships and their dumps, old ponds or lakes. Also if there are excavations done anywhere in an old part of your city, you can get permission to look around for old bottles. Whenever this happens over here, hoards of bottle hunters swarm the site. Many fantastic finds have turned up from old sardine lead seals to very old crockery. As I live on an old goldfield, I tend to confine myself to these areas. I found many wonderful things. My hobby of bottle collecting has for sometime now extended to relic and coin detecting!
Cheers, Angela
