Help Identifying Orange Crystal, variety of specimens

Bartlebee

New member
Found in Northern New Mexico, ancient volcanic area, between Grants and Gallup.

They seem to range in color from deep orange, crystal clear, and even almost black but all have an orange hue to them. Some specimens instead of a normal crystal formation almost look like their melted and bubbling.

Agate. They will take a nice polish. I wonder if the more clearish one has fine enough banding to be an iris agate. If so, the right thickness of slice will diffract light.
