Help identifying plate

I believe it's made of copper, and I know from the Anheuser Busch website that the eagle emblem on the item is from the year 1886. I was wondering if anyone knew what this might have come off of. I was hunting an old mining town from the 1800's when I found this object.

George,

I viewed the others and believe you could be right about that being a matchbox safe. I have never seen one until you pointed those out to me. Would have been nice to find the complete piece but thats the way it goes with this hobby. Thanks again for the info.

Sure fits the size for a match safe. I wouldn't worry too much about not having the other half. Many match safes have the decoration or advertising on only one side and it looks like you found the good side. It's a neat find - congratulations!
