Using the Minelab Xs ( Or rather attempting to use) which is better for detecting..Quickstart mode, or advaced mode.....
Man I need help.
For some reason I am finding this machine very hard to get it working for me..Hunted 1 hour today dug nothing but junk targets..another question Digital or smartfind screen..It's me not the detector it works as it should.... Thanks for any help you can give.
 
Just a couple tips to get you started.
I want to emphasize that these are just a few quickies to get you finding something.
Press and hold the power button to set the machine to factory settings.
Take the XS out to your yard and with the coil on the ground start the machine. You should be in quick start coins and jewelry mode.
Move the coil side to side and find a clear spot and push noise cancel.
Start hunting as with any machine and dig all repeatable signals as always.
Do this for the first 3 or 4 times out and then ask your questions. You will understand a lot better after using it.
It is a turn on and go machine. Give it a try.
 
and I could not adjust till I put it in advanced mode.......do what Bob said and then try my set-up and readjust from there.....get use to the sounds by air testing all denominations of coins and what ever you got for jewlery and even junk tabs and such,,,,,I use to save everything I found and would use these to use learn and edit for discrimination patterns....and saved them for certain sites....READ THE MANUAL and experiment..and air test till you get use to what you are hearing.....and a good set of head phones does help...there is too much to list and only you can make it click......read and experiment...it is one awsome machine with some stupid flaws......
