Help, what is it!

It looks to me like a handle to a fancy piece of kitchen tool like maybe a small shovel or cook stove lid lifter which was hung up when not in us! Just my guess because of it being so pretty and also could be part of a fireplace fancy tool set like a poker or brush to stir or sweep the ashes?? Also could be a dipper for drinking water from a bucket! Hope you find out what it belongs to! May God Bless! Amen! ;angel: Ma Betty

A tent rope tightener.

At first glance it look somewhat like the handle off a frying pan but, back then, most people use cast iron skillets. The more I look at the picture, the more it looks like a tent rope tightener.

Well, Ma was wrong on all counts and glad you found out what it really is! Never went camping in an old tent back in my younger days, but mom and dad lived in a tent when their first son was born back in the early 30's and they would probably have known about it...but have been gone since 1984!! We have really knowledgable people on this forum and praise the Lord for our Brothers and Sisters-in-Christ! Amen! Ma Betty

I thought it looked like a "Shaker Handle" for a wood stove lower grate. Oh Well.
Have a Blessed day all.
