I'm a long time shallow water/land hunter.i run a Sovereign GT on the beach .just sold my CZ21 and would like to try a PI for waste deep salt water.the only PI iv used was a Garrett Sea Hunter back in the 60's.it did well and gave me a good look at how they work diff from a VLF.i know you have little to no discrimination with a PI .id like a few of your personal ideas as to which one on todays market is better and why? I'm thinking Whites PI Pro,Tesoro Sand Shark? think the Infinium is a bit high price for me. thanks!

For the money and the easiest to use the PI pro has it over all the rest,Its lite , quick responding ,and it can take a beating.. Its just the simple basics.

Too bad the Infinium is too pricey for ya. I'd take it over any of the detectors you've mentioned. If you look around, you might be able to find a used one. ..Willy.

Between the 2 mentioned, I would go with the Whites Surfmaster. The Tesoro doesn't come up to the Surfmaster performance.

Outside of Eric Foster's units, the next most sensitive PI for what you want to do, would be the Detector Pro Headhunter PI. The Whites is close to it, but the HH PI has the edge.

I doubt you would find a Garrett Infinium for the price you mentioned, if so I would be quite suspect of it. I would be very carefull of any used water detector you locate. Buyer beware :surprised:
