Have 10.5" dd 7.5 khz;18.75" kHz gold coil;brand new 3 KHz coil never used for my 705.Which is better for the salt water beach?if I remember right the 18.75 kHz coil is not waterproof?Appreciate any feed-back.Thank you.

My 2 cents...No matter what coil you use, you will have a tuff time in wet salt sand. It gets very erratic in the wet. On the dry sand any coil will work, but I would and do use the HF DD Elliptical

When I detect in the Texas Gulf Coast, I don't have a problem with any of the DD coils, using Beach Mode. Just don't over-drive your Sensitivity. As for frequency.....HF responds better to those small pieces of gold jewelry. As far as waterproof.....I'm with OLH.....I run a bead of silicone around the seams where the coil cover meets the coil, as well as a dab around where the cable enters the coil......haven't lost a coil yet. JMHO HH Randy
