Help with a Fisher 1280X

Is $400.00 a decent price for a fisher 1280X? If it breaks does Fisher still repair them?

Depends if it the newer version or the older version. What color are the headphones?
I enjoyed the older version i had about 10 years ago with the red headphones, white searchcoil where the lower rod is positioned in the center of the coil.
Back then paid $150.00 for it.

Biggest problem, fisher fixed mine is the battery compartment cover, if screwed down too tight it warps, eventually lets water in flooding the battery compartment.
Replacement covers can be found on the ebay site.

This one has the red headphones and white coil, rod in center of coil so it must be the older version. So I imagine $400.00 is way too much for it.

ill sell you mine if you want. i can do better then 400 for a 5 year old 200 hr use machine. treated very well. 400 for such an old machine is high. a newer one...sure....300-500 depending. i wouldnt buy it if i were you.
