and dose is the pinpoint still the same . thank you

i was born to metal detect , what a great hobby !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rings, depending on composition will show up just about anywhere on the scale. That's why when in Jewelry mode, the only thing discriminated against is iron/foil.

Like most folks on here will tell you, dig it all!

Jewelry mode will have you digging foil. If you want the goods, dig all targets. I dug a sterling ring today. It was small. It was jumping all over.

You can;t dig it all no matter where ever you may be. I have found about 125 gold rings since I have been hunting (30 years) Most of these in the last five years. If you are looking for old coins then you go where old coins are likely lost. If you are looking for gold rings then you go where gold rings are likely lost. Swimming beaches (Salt and fresh water) volleyball courts, tot lots, ect. Then in these locations you dig it all.......Jack

I said that I had found most of the 125 gold rings in five years. That is about when I discovered instead of going hunting and hoping to find a gold ring I discovered where to go to find them. Silver rings mostly come in the coin range. So if you hunt coins enough from time to time you will find a silver ring.....Jack

Myself, if I was looking for rings, I would only notch the iron notch.
"lowest one" The rest I would leave wide open. This would make
sure you don't miss any rings of varying levels of conductivity.
Some will dip down kind of low.. IE: gold, tab, nickel ranges..
Most of the time I actually run wide open, including the iron tab..
I like to see everything, trash or not.. IE: some iron objects I want
to dig just to see if it's a relic or whatever..

I found this 18k 9.9 gram beauty with my Ace 250 in the "coin" setting, hitting on the penny mark:detecting:

Hunt areas where they get lost...sports fields, beaches, playgrounds.
Hunt in jewelry mode and dig "all"...rings can show up anywhere in the screen.
Dig/Recover targets quickly. Finding rings is a numbers game. The more targets you dig up, the greater chances in finding one.

There is no easy way......the guys who find lots of rings also hunt often and in good places.

Good luck!

Enjoy the magic and the rings will come. You get a machine, you dream of all the wonderful things that can be found. You wonder about your machine-all the things it can do-so you dig everything at your personal tolerance level to find out just what your wonderful machine will do. One day, that ring,or coin,or whatever comes and you not only have joy but you know all the intricacies of your machine. After that day comes, many see not the journey for what it's truly worth and become disheartened-adding a little discrimination here and there, widening their sweeps to "get through" to meet their schedules, begin to wonder if their machine is getting a little outdated after only a few months, etc. They forget the "work" and mystery that got them there. I know. After 30+ years, I was ALMOST one of them.

A lot of rings fall into the pulltab and junk area. If you don't dig some junk then you won't dig many rings, especially gold ones. The big coil pinpoints just like the stock coil and it's good to use in big, wide open areas with little trash. It covers more ground and gets you about 2-3 inches more in depth. If you hunt where there is a lot of trash get the Sniper coil.
