[attachment 50653 Img_0002.jpg]Found this while I was out today testing the newly unfrozen ground around here ! It is back marked WATERBURY SCOVILLE MFG CO ! I think it is from Mo but I am not sure ! Also found a 1899 Barber dime that I almost cut the head off of, It was in the same hole with a pull tab and I was not thinking Silver at all ! Also got an 1889 Indian and a few nick-nacks to boot! When my shoulder stops hurting I may take a few pic's of the coins for show and tell !

As far as the button I sure wouldn't know... :D Nice find though..

Guvner..

Well, it's a nice button. Not QUITE as nice as the one in the picture in the first link below, but close. So it's worth about $100. It dates to 1850 - 1865. Here are some links for you. Your button is the 4th one down in the first link.

Very nice button, plenty of gold gilt left. Some aluminum jelly and a few cotton swabs may bring out the luster.

We are still froze solid up here with a foot of snow yet. Glad to see somebody is getting out.
