Help with Explorer II

Hey all I need some help with the Explorer II
Hope someone will be able to help me out! I bought md about 3 months ago I have got to take it out 3 times as of yesterday.
Here is a little bit about how it went and how the detector acted outside, inside
The area I was detecting should be littered with coins.

Coins Fe is ferous coins, foreign, they have iron, ours are non ferous. X the Fe Coins and check just coins. If you want. I suggest just using factory default as is to learn. I sent you an email to help.

If you are close to Lexington I will help you learn the machine. You should know right off that this machine is sensitive and reads out to the side. You mentioned the coins lost were close to the truck. The machine will read the truck if your close to it. Second, forget reading on the floor of the house. There are targets all around and in the floor so you will never figure it out. Do just 2 things - set your machine on factory presets and go into the middle of a yard. Now check your coin signals on the ground after making sure the spot is clean by sweeping the machine. Don't worry about sensitivity, settings, --- nothing. Use it the way it starts up for 10 to 20 hours. Then start using changes to the settings one at a time. Trust me on one thing, the factory settings are the best out there and you will find plenty.

I agree with the other post. Just leave it in factory settings for now. Do not X anything out! Also I agree with not using it indoors. If you are using it near powerlines it will need to be set at lower sensitivity. I have powerlines over my backyard and I have to detect in about Sens 12. The best advice is practice and patience...try different areas. If it still acts weird maybe it needs a trip to Minelab. Good luck and keep us posted.

Heres your answer. If you test your machine inside, thats a big no no. Let me break it down for you. TV's, and computers interfere with your Detector and so do many electrical devises. Next, Make sure your Variability on your machine is set to 10. Than if you do only one thing, do this.
NOISE CANCEL Make sure you do this without moving the coil and also on a clean piece of ground. If this doesn't do it than back your sensitivity down some. Let us know.
