I am assuming this is a fuse? It is an inch wide and brass. Any ideas? I can't find it in any books. Thanks........Aaron

The threads are too fine for a fuse. They had threads just like a light bulb.
Is there a hole clear through the middle?

Yes, the hole goes all the way through the middle....Aaron

I think it is part of a spray nozzle for a pump up garden sprayer. The winged part was on the outside acting as handles so you could screw it in. Kind of like a wing nut.
Ahead of it would be a flat washer with one or two slits that were punched in sideways to make it act like a hole that would deflect the liquid causing it to spin.
The spinning liquid would come out as a spray from the nozzel.
I used to play with one as a kid. If you took out the spin washer the nozzel would squirt out a steady stream. Made the best high capacity squirt guy I ever had. If you pumped it up real hard it could squirt 40 - 50 feet.
One time I hid way up in a tree and squirted cars as they came by on the street. Had a ball until the cops came by.
