Help with scanner

Would anyone know why my scanner only picks up one coin when I have six on it. It seems to me that a scanner can take a better quality pic than trying to mess around with a camera, and yes I have both the wife had to have each. Thanks and take care.

Jeff - not sure what you're saying???
The only way I can see that happening is if you have the preview area set around only one of the six coins. Surely that is not the problem? Usually this has to be reset for each picture and I don't think it stays set (say from a previous session). However, it is possible that different scanners do this differently.
Anyways it's the only thing I can think of offhand.
HH ... Gord.

If your scanning program loads up a simulation of the scanner and there is a dotted line in a square on it you need to grab the edges of that dotted line and spread them out to cover the entire scanner surface. The two scanner programs I have do not default to full screen. Whatever you scanned a partial page of previously will continue to be the default until you grab the dotted line box and move it to grab more of the surface. What kind of scanner do you have and what software comes with it to provide the scanning?
Leaving the lid up incidentally gives a nice black background for coins.
Good hunting... Guvner..

I use a bear paw 1200cu mustek, and for software I use photoexpress. I am pretty sure MY WIFE has something turned on or off. When I put more than one coin on it the scanner sees the first one on the corner where the arrows for putting a photo or document. I probalby just need to keep messin' with it, just wondered if anyone knew. thanks for the help.

do a preview scan. With this done, look at the picture of the scan and you will probably see a dotted box. Just move this box to the coins and then grab the corner with the cuser and drag it to enlarge it enough to surround all the coins. Then do the full scan.
Tip. When scanning for the web, scan only at 75 dpi and that will give you a small enough picture, pixel wise, to post. The picture looks no better at 300 on the web unless you have to blow the thing up
