The "merc" is self-explanatory;

The keys: I usually just discard old keys that I find in the ocean, but these keys interested me in their ornateness and stamping. I did some research and found that the "Eagle Company " was established in 1833 and incorporated in 1854 in Terryville, Ct. ( near to where I live). At one time the Eagle Co. was the largest trunk and cabinet lock maker in the world. The company closed its doors in 1975 and on its site presently stands the Eagle Lock Museum.

Couldn't find anything on Independent Lock Co . Fitchburg, Mass.

I have no idea what the final picture is all about....what are those things on that safety pin?

The sea sure does a job on silver. The last pic looks like a bunch of washers. And isn't it fun to research our finds ? Thanks for the pics, steve in so az

That pin with its washers gave such a nice, solid , focused tone....."Ah" , I thought "finally some gold".... but :cry: next time...maybe
