Most are not in the best shape..some even worse than that, but I like them.

Great finds!!!! I hope to find my first Merc. soon...

like a rabbit!
Nice collection!

Yeah, he's a "carrot detectorist"..see the pouch he has slung over his shoulder full of carrots?

eggs in the basket are as about as expensive as the dimes you found with the prices of eggs here in MO now! :frown: $4.02 for a dozen and a half of Large AA ones! Ya may need those dimes if the price of gas and everything else keeps rising!!

God Bless & Happy Hunting!!
Betty

Grade "A" dozen (large) cost $1.79 here.

I'll soon have to cash in my silver....electric ; gas bills are sky high.

God bless you and keep you healthy..Betty

If its a key chain then its not good luck...for the rabbit.

:)

Thanks, Lorraine, and the same to you! I know what you mean about the utility bills, as mine are rising like they had yeast poured on them! Maybe you will do really well finding lots of old silver and even gold coins! Never know when those Spanish Coins might wash up on shore! Sure would be nice to find them and in good condition too!

God Bless to you and yours!
right now I'd be happy with anything silver!
I would be happy with any coin older than 1965, I only found modern coins:rofl:

Eventually you will find more old coins than you will know what to do with.

When I first began detecting 3 summers ago , I said to my brother "I would love to find one of those old "mercs"..but I don't think I ever will"

He said "Don't worry... you'll find lots of them; keep diggin'"

He was correct .it wasn't long thereafter that I I found the first one in a parking lot about 3 " deep; I was ecstatic and could n't believe what I was seeing. and it wasn't long before I was digging them quite often ...

Please be sure and post when you find your first "old" coin..and BTW ..1965 is not so old to this "oldster"..

Hello Lorraine, Nice finds!!! Did you check to see if that 1916 Merc has a D mint mark? The 1916 D is the Key in the Merc set.
Have a nice Holiday
Ed

Yes, I definitely tried my best to find a mint mark on the 1916's but ...could not see a mint mark at all...most of these mercs are in such poor shape from "sleeping " so long in the salt water, that what mint marks may have been stamped are gone for good. :( wish I could have found that "D" mintmark for you.

I'll let you know if I do find one in the future..I'll be on the "Look Out " for it
