4 " square Nail rejected @ 21 Disc. 1+ tone , G.B. @ 83 3 Fe bar's sens 80...

I think you will see this is in the upper range of performance...!!

I like norfolk's videos but he swings way to fast for hunting that would be done in a trashy environ..Don't ya think?

Thanks Keith. That was awfully close to that nail too! I wonder if my T2 is not as good as some others, as I couldn't get a signal 1" or 2" from the nail. I'll have to do my test again.
That really is in the upper range of performance. edit - The target I used was more dime sized, I have to try it with something bigger.

BTW - A lot of the German coins are dime sized here. I think the T2's frequency is actually quite good for finding them. Found another oldie yesterday that I'm still soaking. Can't make out a date yet. I got it at around 3" deep but it was bone dry in the park. Most of the grass was dead. It hit at exactly 57/58 as most of those dime sized coins do (and some compact foil at times).

I am only reading Norfolks book, I can't remember seeing any of his videos. I'm really liking the book so far. It's not big at all with lots of more advance and useful information in it. Funny, he talks about slowing his swing down in the book!

Put a nail along the

trick dioramix .. it's all redundant at this point....I was trying to show earthmansurfer the shut down between targets like he inquired about...If we go back to the nail on coin trick what purpose does it prove it's already been done?

I was trying to show people how to set up there machine :teknetics:if they are having difficulty in obtaining the result's that you were showing with the omega..
I am not trying to put down the omega I like the omega ... it's not even an issue ....heck there almost the same machine....

I just would like people to know that there detector is not obsolete all of a sudden because of a post that declared T-2 inferior..

Heck Next I Will have to stand on 1 foot while doing test....Come on dude it's a metal detector go out and have fun!..

I like to learn about them not argue about them...I.m glad you have an Omega and like it...I like them great value great coil selection great ergonomic's

I don't know every thing about detector's I like to study them and play with them.

But I am not making another video to prove what.......?

You can get the same result's on a dime Earthman since it's a high conductor...but start getting smller coins than a dime you would have to have a smaller nail..You see in norfolk's videos he uses a cut hammered but he also uses a very small thin nail.. Which may be the type encountered in real early British site's?

The type I used in my video were actually rather large but not to awful ..The 21 disc would not reject that nail long way's so it would be dug if you hit it at the right angle ...most of the ones I encounter in civil war site's are half that size and will reject long way's at 21.. That's on thing we have to remeber that there's more than just one size nail laying in the ground also and you will dig lot's of bigger iron when hunting just at nail reject...That's fine for relic hunting ( Some time's) but if you are in a park or yard or such I would be careful ...I still enjoy 2+ tone on the T-2 the most and only use the nail reject 21( or what ever's required) if it's an area I think something good is lurking because of a past find then slowly get the larger iron out till you just have the nail's left then use nail disc...

Now if it's well know area centuries old I would bet people have already picked even the larger iron ...So you will have a better chance at nail disc setting's!!

Good luck Hunting like that is tedious work

I hear you dioramix everything is fine :clapping:

Good luck with the omega on hunting those ancient area's

Yep, just a 21ish T2 setting and about 17 or so on the Omega, usually using d2 audio tones.. So many older sites where we used to do 'OK' with a decent non-discriminating TR and then all more modern detectors have left a lot of the iron and masked targets due to use of too much discrimination. When I work renovation or ghost towns or other common iron nail littered sites and do reasonably well others ask why? Well, if I do use iron rejection it is very little. Often, I just listen to everything unless the iron is just too plentiful.

I sure wish I could make it back to some of your hunt sites. Maybe one of these days. :)
