Dug this little critter today and can't figure out what it is. It's pretty heavy and looks to be made of brass. The really strange part is the back (picture to follow). Any ideas?

Looks like the back plate to an old warded lock. Neet find. <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":)"> HH Pat
