Back last fall I would post a question or topic and would ask for my fellow forum members to chime in with their personal experiences or thoughts on those topics. For the most part, people seemed to enjoy doing that and many of you said so. Lets try it again. If it goes well, then I will try to get back to doing that.

As before, NONE of this is meant to stir up trouble! It is not meant to challenge YOUR beliefs. There is NO reason for anyone to get riled up if someone posts something you personally do not believe in. If this whole thing starts turning sour, I will ask Mike to remove the post. So far, I haven't had to ask him to do this! :)

If you don't want to participate, then that's fine! Here's the question(s) or topic(s):

Have you ever had an experience involving demon spirits or demonic activity? Have you ever seen a demon? Some people do not believe these things are possible or that they can occur now... that this only happened in the Bible. What do you think?
 
About 10 years ago this young man killed his mom and dad while they were sleeping and was arrested and the local news was on the scene as they brought him to jail, his eyes his face , his whole demeaner was evil , I saw him on the news it was scary, dark hollow eyes, I will never forget it!
 
I don't know if you know or not but an evil spirit can also be smelled....has a very foul odor! We have Angelic Spirits and Demonic spirits that is why we have good and evil in people and even animals! May God Bless and keep us safe from satan...the evil one and his demons! Amen! :angel: Ma Betty
 
My friend & I started detecting some run down empty old apartments - all one floor buildings. When we passed by one we looked in the window and saw what appeared to be an evil altar with a figure & all kinds of stuff. There was a dummy like figure sitting with skinny arms & legs spread out, pointed pieces of a mirror for horns, red paint running from the eyes, burned stuff around it. The whole scene was on an alter raised about 2 feet.

No one was there but it had been used recently. I took a rake I had brought and destroyed it with a statement to the Lord. The whole time we were there we felt tingly or such, very quiet and a water leak shooting up nearby. We got out and never went back. Later on the apts were bulldozed. steve in so az
 
Bring it on, Lisa...I, for one, love your questions. It's fun to see what others believe...we can all learn from each other. I have had personal experience and I KNOW that demons do exist here on earth. I'm very leery about going into detail because my experience involves a child, but it was intense. In a completely dark house I saw a bright green swirling mass and felt an overwhelming sense of evil...a suffocating presence. I didn't smell a stench, but I have heard others describe horrible odors.
 
Personally I think 'Spiritual Questions' are good, if they indeed make one think about their relationship with God and encourage growth in that relationship.
 
This is eire! This past Sunday our Pastor was talking about how a lot of Christians just look at the good side of things and do not really acknowledge evil. Nowadays people seek medical answers for issues that back in the old days were regarded as demonic. He went into a personal example of a teenager he was counseling whom had an evil spirit dwelling inside him. He didn't drive it out or anything but did have a verbal altercation with it. He kept preaching about how there is a war going on against good and evil. I have to admit that since I accepted Christ I have not giving this a second thought. My world was full of lollipops and gumballs. Now my eyes are slowly starting to open.
 
i have never seen anything obvious. more often than not i think it goes unnoticed and im sure the demon would want it that way.
 
Yes I had an experience with them twice. Once was the same time 4everhis102399 was talking about I was in the room and had to do some serious praying over some people. GOD took care of it . GOD is so good.
 
If we believe the Scriptures, then we must conclude that there are demonic forces. Jesus spoke of demons, Jesus cast out demons. Demons are frequently mentioned in the Scriptures. There is therefore no doubt that demonic forces exist, but I have had no experiences with them in any recognisable way.

One of the problems is that people "blame" demons for their own sins. It is much easier to do that than it is to face the awful reality of our true self. The "demon" that causes us most problems is our own fallen nature, not an outside force at all. People blame demons for their temptations, for their sinful actions, for just about anything when the real culprit is their own desire for whatever pleases them and the enormous force of "self".

Ordinary every-day humans commit monstrous crimes. These things can be so horrific that we say, "He (or she) is demon possessed." But they are probably not for there is a terrifying potential for REAL evil in you and in me. We do not need any outside force to cause it, just an unhappy combination of circumstances. Sadly, I have observed godly people to do very ungodly things when pressurised by a sudden and very difficult circumstance overtaking them.

Many Christians don't understand the dreadful reality of "self" and that is essentially because they are ill-taught in the Scripture. These days there is an "easy believerism" idea around that fails to point out the true nature of fallen man. This is not being discussed or preached about. In times past people knew the dreadful truth about our real self because faithful preachers spoke the whole counsel of God. This is not a popular message now.

Hear the words of Jesus: "For from within, out of men
 
I'm a firm believer that if Satan and all his cohorts were to cease any type of activity on this Earth for one week, any change in the state of the world's affairs would be negligible. God knows how dark our hearts are and He's explained it in His Word. I'm certain we give the devil and his minions too much credit. Sorry I got off on kind of a tangent, TreasureDigger. But, right before I was led to the Lord through a co-worker, I had started reading books on the occult. Some of the subjects were about Madame Blavatsky, Carl Jung, Dietrich Eckhart, etc.. One night I was sitting in my easy chair and my wife was sitting across the room in her easy chair doing lesson plans, with her head down of course. I was watching TV and right above the TV was the curtain covering the long, narrow ( horizontally ) window. The curtain was maybe three feet tall at the most and it was drawn open. Well, when a curtain is drawn open it's like an accordian effect ; bunched up. The outside corner of the curtain looked like somebody grabbed it and started pulling it to about 90 degrees to the rest of the curtain, up the side of the wall, and then dropped back down into the position it should've been in. This happened in a span of about 2 seconds. I yelled at my wife, " Did you see that !?!? " Of course she didn't because she had her head down doing lesson plans. It really rattled me because I'd never witnessed anything like that. At that time, I wasn't sealed by the Holy Spirit of God. Even after I became a Christian, I was harassed by a demon or demons. But, at this point I know I'm sounding long winded. Yes, there is definitely demonic activity on this Earth. ><>
 
Need more time to talk about this. Answer is yes. No time to go into this though.
 
Yes they are real and Yes I have seen OR been tormented. The answer will always be prayer and the Lord will protect. I will give a description when I have some more time.

Like many of you - I believe and trust in the Word of God. But hold on! It's not that simple! There is a responsibility on our part! We must take action!!!

There is a devil and demons and they are real - and guess what? They know who Jesus is too! (Luke 4:41 "Demons came out of many people, shouting, "You are the Son of God!" But Jesus ordered them not to speak. After all, they knew he was the Messiah).

John 10:10 says that "he roams about seeking who he can devour". He would like to - and does - rip your life apart at every turn - if you will let him in!

That is all I need to know about demons and the evil one.

I do not want to study nor discuss nor publicize the work of demons.. Instead, we claim victory over the evil one by striving to live our lives in the will of God.

If I only know about Jesus and do not live in His will, than I am like the world. If I live like this, as the world lives, I am more and more subject to the work of the evil one in my life.

How do we claim His promise and gain power over the evil one?

Step 1. :geek:Daily, first thing, read your Bible and pray for his help and wisdom, he'll freely give it!. (James 1:5) (Luke 21:38> The Word gives us power! (1 Corinthians 1:18>

Step 2. :geek:Obey God and His commands. That's it. That's the secret. (Deuteronomy 13:4)

Step 3. :geek:Submit every part of your life to God's will. Your desires, your relationships, how you view and love others, your finances, your career, your children, possessions, everything! (Job 22:21)

First obey and live in His will, then "who can come against us?".( Romans 8:31)

Do this and walk in victory, not just "knowing" but "doing". (Proverbs 2:7)

The evil one can not stand to be around you when Jesus lives in your heart - he will run away! (Proverbs 28:1)

"Fear not!! For I am with you always! (Mathew 28:20)

about escaping Hell than He did about getting into Heaven! (Jesus is the way, the truth and the life and no man enters God's Kingdom without Him) Sinners will be cast into Hell and Hell will be cast into the Lake of Fire and believe me where sinners will be tortured and mocked by satan for listening to his lies...so why would anyone want to go there by denying the One and Only Savior, Jesus Christ, Who is our Redeemer by believing faith in Whom He is?? Amen! God is a God of love but also a jealous and wrathful God! He will take revenge against his enemies, for vengeance is Mine, saith the Lord! :angel: Ma Betty
