awesome hunt again James. you are one silver finding pro.

A big congrats again.

to swing the coil over top of the Silver that's all. It seems the Silver comes fairly easy at times and other times it's hard to get much Silver at all. I think it has a lot to do with what frame of mind one is in while out detecting and of course...the site one goes to that plays a big role in the amount of Silver found during the outing. All I know is that it sure is fun popping out Silver after Silver and it sure can be a drag when the Silver is few and far between other times. Anyways, glad you liked the finds this time around. Thanks for responding and hope you are able to get out soon and pop some Silver for yourself. Until then, Good Luck and HH to you.

Great Finds I'm envious.

What is your secret for cleaning those coins so well. I havn't had much luck getting my copper looking that good.

If you could share your knowledge it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

It mainly depends on what kind of ground the coins came from that will determine the condition when cleaned. These coins came from a more Sandy Soil and that is why they cleaned up a bit nicer. Mainly, I have only been using a fine bristled Brass Brush and Water to clean up the Pennies. I will also use Hydrogen Peroxide too. If you use this method, make sure not to clean any Silver since this will turn Silver a dull grey color. Also make sure not to leave the coins in the Peroxide for long periods of time, I feel that this may clean them too much and show more pitting than if only soaked for a few minutes and then scrubbed with a brush of some type. So far, the Brass Brush is the way to go since it doesn't scratch the coins if your gentle. If the coins have a lot of green crud on them, there is little that you can do to make them turn out in any nice condition. If they have a nice Green Patina, like Injuns get when sitting in the ground for a long period of time, I would just run some Water and a little Dishsoap and gently scrub with an old Toothbrush so you don't remove the Patina of the coin. You can find a Small Brass Brush at your Local Walmart. Hope this helps. Good Luck and HH.

I'll try my best to dig as much Silver on my next outing. Thanks for the reply and Good Luck and HH to you.:detecting:
