I just finished installing a water programer unit - 6 stations (valves) to water things whenever you want to. One for the front yard and one for the back. We have all grass, trees & plants here. I'll bet you all get so much frequent rain that you probably never even see a unit like this :) Steve in so az

Every other day unless it rains. It has a rain detector (something I don't think you'll need very often :) )

or some other business when it is closed and the sprinklers are on and - of course it is raining. No one around to shut off the sprinklers.

This year we have had very little rainfall and we had a mild winter so not a lot of snow to melt down. Our ground water levels are low and some small ponds are almost gone, and rivers are very low. I hear it is a cyclic problem. The cycle will change eventually and I'll be complaining we have too much rain.

many people here have irrigation systems for their yards and flower beds. We often have dry runs, and need the rain like this year. We had a period of almost 6 weeks with no rain! :( Most of us out in the sticks don't run irrigation unless it is on a crop field! :)
