Here's the addendum to the posting below re: today's finds....

This 1915 class ring I think must be from a "Technical School" I think the face has images of : book ; key ; Plumb bob( ? spelling)

It has no metallic stamping..tested negative for gold

It was very delicate, and although I tried my best to handle it with care, the band was so thin under that thick crustation, that it just split in my fingers, like sawdust...I feel so bad because this ring is an antique..

It has lettering on it, but I cannot make out what it says.. I will keep trying...

is very unusual and don't think I've seen one like it. Maybe it's an older Masonic Ring.....Sorry the band broke...the salt water sure did a work on it!

What do you use to test for gold???

Mizer gold test kit( Electronic Gold Tester M24) tests for gold 9K to 24 k...also tests for gold -plated. Very reliable...I like it.

Sounds like a neat find. I cannot get the pics here or on your other post but read that others can. But I have my normal computer in the shop to add memory and am using a laptop now. I sure admire you for constantly getting out and getting the goods ! Steve in so az

I'm guessing that is signifies the following :

the book = education


the key = curiosity; open mindedness

the plumb-bob = hard work

appropriate logo for any type of school...

I've seen Tech school class rings with similar images.....maybe that's what this ring is, but I will further investigate it.
