Wall to wall people-I betcha you can still get an '08 KLR for a good price,now that the '09s are out-only difference from '08 to '09 is the colors...Same engine,etc,etc......Im running synthetic oil in mine,by the way-AND Im gettin just under 60 MPG!!! It will run 60-70 mph all day(I WONT ride the freeway very often-almost suicidal!!)-There have been some that have gotten the '08-'s that have had problems with oil usage since new,but its just a handful of owners-They have fixed them all under warranty.Mine has NOT used a drop since I bought her new 7/2/07-BY THE WAY:If you get a new'08;there are 2 recalls for this bike from Kawasaki- 1 for the exhaust system bolts not being tight enough-some have had their MUFFLER fall off while riding
-DIDNT happen to me-and #2 recall-to replace all 4 turn signal assemblies-UNDER WARRANTY!!-mine are fine,they're gonna replace them anyway next in April;when I take her in to my dealer to have new tires put on her;and a valve adjustment done.BY THE WAY:I run Kenda761's for replacement tires-Less that $100.00 for a set from Dennis Kirk-70% on road,30% off road tires.The oem rear tire lasted only 2,400 miles till a nail got her-It was almost bald and needed replacing,anyway...
