Hey Doc, any updates on the new boots??

Had me confused. I did not send them back to get a gusset, I just sent them back. They won't put a gusset in them.

They contract for those things to be made in China by the shipping container full. They are not going to any expense to put gussets in them. As hard hearted as it sounds, these companies only care about money.

The only hope is that next year when they come out with the new line that they have taken my criticism and complaint to heart and change the design. Right now I am just happy that we have a fantastic boot that does have full gussets, even if it is black.

Rich Lampright who just got back from Alaska could not say enough good things about these boots including the fact that he was able to stand ankle deep in water and not get his feet wet.

Take care!

How about posting a picture of the Black ones DOC, I have a pair of the first Bates Black ones you sold, the guset only goes half way, Do the new black ones have a different tread pattern? Grubstake

The tread pattern is a bit diiferent but it still has that stud like spiked pattern that has worked so well in the boot you have, as a matter of fact, if anything it is a little bit more aggressive in the tread pattern. I have been wearing them for about a year and have not slipped once !!!
