Hey everyone

New member
I just found this site and had to join up, looks like lots-o-fun. I have been swingin a machine for almost thirty years, hoping to get out this year and get after it again. just had a triple bypass done last may and just not sure if I can but if not I'm sure this place will help fill the void.

Thanks for having me here
Lee

Welcome Lee you will fit right in. Everyone is so nice.

I think all things will work out with the heart. Metal detecting is not what I would consider a high impact activity and it WILL keep you active and limber. SO have at it. YOU WILL KNOW WHEN ITS TIME TO TAKE A BREAK.

Back in the 70's I had a major asthma attack and the Doctor told me I would never return to full time work. Two weeks later I went to work full time and 27 years later I retired from that job! I did just what I recommended; when I needed to take a break, I took it.

What are you detecting with?

HH (happy hunting) and God bless.

now get out there and detect. have you been doing your physical therapy/rehab?

Oh my gosh, what a wonderful welcome, thank you everyone.

I live in north western Illinois in a a city called Rock Island, just a stones throw away from the Mississippi river. I have a good wife and five children who also love to get out and and try to wear out their detectors. We use Garretts, Tesoro, Whites, Fisher, Bounty Hunter, and have had great success with them all. Of course we all have our favorite kinds of spots and get into quite a few family competitions, all in good fun though. The docs think I may get out this year but it's constant up and down their worried about. I think if I can get a long handled scoop I can still hit my favorite spots, probably do it anyway. Love those volleyball courts, lol.

Blessings

Hey Lee--I am originally from Salem, Illinois. My sister and one of my brothers still live there. Salem is in south central Illinois. Brian(bobdylan) who posts here is also from Illinois. Great to meet a fellow Illinoisian, if there is such a word.

Well, I've heard us called us that so I think it really is a word. I kinda like it here even though I have lived out west and way down south. spend most of my detecting days across the river in Iowa.

I guess there's no place like home

Hi Lee - I had a triple bypass 4 years ago. All's great now, lots of energy since the old lines were replaced.
Also, I have been swinging almost 30 years as well. And I was born in Savanna, Ill - sure you know where that little burg is.
Good to see ya here, steve in so az

Hey Steve

I make it there more than a few times a year, They have great flea markets and all sorts of good sales there. I collect old plastic army men, always find a few good ones in Savanna

thanks Steve

anytime ya need prayer feel free to ask..we love to pray and God loves to hear from us.

Well, Lee, this ole gal is late as usual and just getting on to read the posts and post for today! WELCOME, as we love when new brothers and sisters join us as a family and we are family on the CMD Forum! Glad you found us and hope you stay with us and show us some of your finds from 30 years of detecting! I started in fall of 1980, but didn't really get into it, until I had my own detector in 1981 and joined our coin club in July of that year! I don't detect too much any more because of health and getting up in years...my legs are very weak now, so can't climb or do much walking, but sure would like to continue detecting and find what's been lost! Always good to dig up something good from the past and even clad coins! :) I haven't detected for the last couple of years or so, but many are still going strong who're near my age or beyond it! Prayers for strength and your ability to get back to doing some swinging and digging! May you find something great! :) God Bless!
Ma Betty
