Hey Guys, I'm back .....

Hey to the friends I made on here and all the people who helped me with advice on learning how to use my XS. I have lost touch with lots of things because last year was a nightmare. My wife's brain cancer came back after seven years of being cancer free. Brain surgery in March and chemo for a while, then Stem Cell Transplant during the month of July, which didn't work for her. Then another brain surgery in October and given months to a year to live, and almost dying from pneumonia in November didn't leave me time to even look up.
The past couple of months she has refused the treatments and has just lately been getting some strength back and commanded me to go detecting again. So I thought I'd check out the forum to get my detecting blood pumping and it's good to see lots of stuff is still being found and the good old boys are still going strong.

Had a good hunt on April first with my buddy Mike who is just getting into detecting, and boy has he got the fever. ( He gets excited about almost everything he digs ). I whooped and hollered and really rubbed it in when I would find something good and he would get even more nervous, we had a blast. He took some video of our hunt and put it on you tube ....

Guys, I'm not looking for sympathy, just wanting to touch base again and visit with some friends. And I'm hoping I'll have some more good finds to post and brag about soon.....
.Like Bryce says...... Metal detecting is good therapy when you got troubles.

Well , Sir, we haven`t met on here but a long 2 plus year battle with my son`s cancer is what nudged me back to detecting. We lost that brave fight in October, he at the age of 22. God bless you and your family. I have found that getting those phones back on along with a new minelab is really helping in my personal recovery. What a neat way to disappear into the past for a while ! HH

Great video Bill and some really nice finds! That Safe Driver badge is cool as well as all of the silver. Even the rusty iron is neat. Hope you're able to get out some more and best wishes to you and your family. HH

Thanks for the kind words guys..... I know we are not the only ones going through this stuff and I feel for every one that has walked this path. So sorry to hear about the toll cancer has taken on others here on the forum. And BBQman, I love your handle..... Eating BBQ has been one of the contributing factors that has helped me build my robust waist line. :clapping:
I'm going to do some research on the Safe Driver Badge ....... and, as long as my wife is doing OK, I'm hoping to get back to the old school with my buddy a time or two before the ticks and chiggers become a major pain. I'm thinking if there is that much silver, wheat pennies, nickels, and jewelry still there at 4, 5, and 6 inches that there should be some older stuff a little deeper.
It feels good to be digging in the ground again.....::detecting:........

Thanks for this post. I'm gonna head on over and watch the video. My prayers for you and your wife sir! Take care.
