Faye, Please don't be offended by the "joke" about the wife out in the snow. I know these guys well enough to know that they meant absolutely nothing by it! The two who posted are some really great Christian men and would never hurt anybody intentionally. I'm a woman and I had to smile when I read it. I make jokes about men all the time!!!! I've even made them on here!!! lol They weren't trying to be degrading. If I thought they were, I would be the first to rip them up!!! I am a very independent woman and well able to take care of myself financially, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every other way. I would never allow myself to be walked on by any man simply because I'm a woman! I'm married (27 1/2 years), and my husband and I have had our share of problems, but it was never because of him being degrading or treating me as though I was a second class citizen! I would never allow that.

I completely understand that you must have had a bad experience with the way some of the Southern Baptist churches treat their woman members. I live right smack in the Heart of Dixie and have witnessed this a few times. No, I'm not Southern Baptist (I'm Pentecostal/Church of God), but I do know what you are talking about. These men who posted/commented are NOT like the men you have had to deal with in the past! Of course I can't speak for ALL the men on the forum, for I don't know them ALL well enough to make a judgement call, but these two did not mean any harm! Please give them another chance... after all... they are just.... MEN!!! lol ;-)

I received an email from one of them Mike about it just being a clean joke and this is my reply back to him.....................

I also am very accepting to clean jokes. Laughter does good like a medicine. However that was not a joke!!!!! If you thought it was then you need to take a deep look inside. As I said if it was said about a black person being locked out in a blizzard would it have been acceptable to you? Would you have thought that was a joke??? If it had said a mentally ill person was locked out in a blizzard would you have responded about thawing out in the spring??? Let's see what if it was about a newborn baby would you have responded likewise? No it was not a clean joke!!!! It was not a joke of any kind.....................just a bunch of men putting women down . Let's see God said for the husband to love his wife as Christ loves the church.............. Do you think he would classify it as a clean joke?

I can understand what you are trying to say Treasure digger, However I still disagree with you. Christ would not have said it of that I have no doubt so.........................
