Hey, Look At Finn55Cats Diamond Ring!

Ina is here at work with me and we just took a picture of her ring. It's two-tone 10K gold, hefty little sucker!

Way to go, Ina! :super:

She won't find too much of a better beach machine than the Quattro. Not unless she wants a water machine. But since she mostly hunts in the dry and maybe a little wet, no need to change anytime soon. The Quattro is one of the deepest machines I've seen at the beach. Deeper than my CZ or my Excalibur, hands down.

Hey, there have been many a nice find in the dry sand. I'm like you, I FAR prefer the wet. But people will often take their rings off for various reasons...going swimming, don't want to lose it...don't want to get a tan line, etc. Then somebody yanks the blanket, trips over them, or just plain forgets they were there and lifts the blanket and it's gone just that quick.

In fact, my own daughter did that very thing 2 years ago at Croatan with her $300 class ring from Salem High School. She came home about 2 hours after the fact, like 7 PM, and told me "Daddy, I screwed up..." We raced down there with my CZ-70, hit the parking lot at 7:51...they CLOSE at 8. Guy didn't even want to let me park so I went in on foot while my wife waited outside the lot with the car. Daughter showed me the area where they were and I found it in 3 minutes, back out the gate at 7:59:59! My wife and daughter were pretty impressed with that one, let me tell you. Have to say I never expected to find it that quick.

Sometimes you give up and give out trying to dig so deep!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes Max, more for you in the aqua!!!!!!

Gator,

Nothing wrong with dry sand. Yes, it is harder for older folks to walk in ;) but there is loot there. I mentioned how I found a ladies $4,000 wedding band when she lost it. If I had not been there to look for it when she lost it, someone would have found it later. Also, this Monday when I went down, tide was all wrong and no wet sand and rough surf so hit the dry sand not expecting much. A silver ring and gold ring in less than two hours is not a bad day.

Anyway, in the dry sand, I flung out 3 times and went to detect over the hole, and the ring was just lying there. Yes, it's a circle, yes, it's a ring. What a fun hobby!!!!!!!!!!!
