Thanks Lisa, I read your PM and replied! Still don't know if you read the poem, The Little White Church, as yet??? The little old country church I attended as a child growing up and married in was never painted and didn't have a steeple, but just remained weathered and gray! Mostly what I wrote was memories of my church meetings and Decoration Day gatherings with dinners on the ground! Ahhh, and oh what memories of growing up in bygone days of life! Ma Betty

Yeah, Ma, I read it an replied! Here in the South, especially in my area, we still have Decorations, and All Day Singings with Dinner on the Ground. However, dinner isn't actually "on the ground" anymore, it's in the fellowship hall! Hahahaha!

Yeah, modernization has come to most church buildings except for the real old country churches that haven't updated much! The dinners we have now at the cemetery on Memorial Day aren't spread out on the ground either, and thank goodness, as I couldn't lean over and get the food any more! We have a covering over some wooden tables and benches that get weathered also for the place is mostly open, but still better than the ground and instead of hunting a private place in the woods, there is an outhouse or a Johnny on the Spot for that day only! Praise God for that! Hated to go into the woods for needing to go at an inopportune time!  May God Bless! Amen! Ma Betty
