Just wanted to let you know that I'd printed out your posts with tips on hunting with the exp II. I've read them a couple of times but believe it or not, I only just got it tonight
I've hunted my front and back yard to death and have found no more than a couple of wheaties. I've been out there since a bunch of times but couldn't find a target to dig if my life depended on it... there must be a ton of nails from all the home improvements over the years
Well, I went back with a different approach tonight. It's the same thing I learned to do with the CZ-20 but never thought of doing with the Exp II (until I re-read your post this afternoon). Very simply, lower the sensitivity. Duh.
While still "noisy", I was able to move around very slowly and at different angles and find some "iffy" signals that sounded worthy of digging a hole. Not all were good but I did manage to find another wheatie, a '46 Jefferson and an old dog tag. I'd been missing these amongst the iron all this time
Your tips were very helpful... just took a little time for me to fully understand what to listen for. I'll keep practicing
Question, Do you hunt the bays with the Exp II or do you still use the CZ-20?
Anyway,
Thanks for your help!
