Go out and buy "Taking a Closer Look at Metal Detector Discrimination" by Robert C. Brockett. It is a very good book that is focused on the Pro Series Detectors. Very informative and detailed. If you have a White's dealer close to where you live, drop him a note and ask about the book. Or ask Ed of he can get a copy for you. It is money well spent and will give you a very good insight into that new detector of yours.

I have a 5900 and an XL Pro, I really like the XL Pro. The 5900 is no slouch either but I'm looking to eventually sell that one as it just does not get used as much as my MXT and XL Pro.

Enjoy your new detector, I'd be very interested in knowing how well the audio mod works for you. I have thought about getting that mod for my XL Pro but just have not pulled the trigger on that yet.
