In the 1960's, the weather in Maplewood where we lived at the time was over 100 degrees and up to 114 for several days! We were vacationing out West in the mountains and had to wear light jackets, while people in St. Louis and surrounding areas were lined up at ice houses to get ice and try to keep cool! The yards burned up because it was so hot and dry! It was over 100 degrees in 1954 when I worked in the shipping department with no A/C! The place was so hot that the return carriages on the typewriters were too hot to touch!

So, St. Louis, has extreme heat every once in awhile.....it has hit 115 and boy, for our weather, it is HOT!!! Try to stay cool dobbie, steve and waterbug! You can hunt in the winter when it is Coooooooooooooooooold with ice and snow here where I live and your tears and your nose nearly freezes if out tooooo long at a time! Would be nice to be in the low 70's at all times but no such luck or blessings for most of us!

God Bless!
