Hi all just wanted to say hi. I like the older Garrett's and just wondered if there we're any other folks that do. I have the Master hunter ADS-6 the MH-5 with crossfire coils MH 7x as well as a CXIII. Its hard to find a place that has a place for just the older detectors. Anyway just wanted to say hi to all .

Welcome to the forum!! I used both the ADS Deepseeker and Groundhog back when they were new. Great detectors and many fond memories of them. Have you tried the Vintage Metal Detector forum or the Compass metal detector forum? Great places to talk about old, vintage or classic detectors. Hope this helps. Happy hunting!!

The older Garretts were dynamite! I wonder how many real treasures were discovered using a Garrett b.f.o. or t.r. Back in the day, they were cutting edge, top of the line equipment. I don't have experience with the newer models, but people seem to love them. I know when I don't feel like using my Deleon, my Garrett Groundhog is my next choice. Happy Hunting!

I can only say they have found a lot for me over the year's. I started off with a TR unit but' went with my dad when he had a BFO. Dad let my brother's and I dig up targets. We had a ball doing that as well as seeing what would come out of the ground next. I recall working after school and mowing yards as well as hauling hay to make enough money to buy the TR model. Anyway thanks for the post its nice to talk about the old times. I have had a lot of fun in this hobby over the years and i would not change a thing. There has been a lot of change in this hobby since then' and some great detectors have came out to make it easy for us to find and have a good idea what's in the ground. Thanks -------Plug popper.
