Hi all!

I've been following posts on the new EuroTek Pro with great interest lately. I'm primarily a Minelab Sovereign user but I've been hankering for a nice simple lightweight yet powerful unit for modern clad and iron trash shooting and the EuroTek seems to have it in spades! Then my wife tells me she might be interested in joining me with her OWN detector so I was like, "BINGO" perfect excuse to buy another detector! LOL Two questions: 1) do you think this detector would compliment my Sovereign well? and 2) do you think it's a good beginner's detector? I was going to get it with the 11" DD but was a little worried about her pinpointing with it. HH George Fatizzi

I have tried for 30 years to get my wife to go with me. I bought the 8" and let her try it, now she asks me to go detecting! I even had to buy her a Pro Pointer!
So I had to buy another Eurotek for me, the 11". I think set up correctly this is and the best beginner machine there is. BUT, it is so much more and should never be considered a beginner machine. The 8" is much easier to PP with. The only mine lab I can compare to is the Safari I owned for two years, in this Oregon ground the 11" ET is my hands down favorite. Hope this helps!

Hi George, the wife & I have been detecting for many years (she loves it as much as I do). I recently got her a Eurotek Pro with the 11"DD coil, first time that she has used a DD coil and she didn't care for it. We got the 8" coil for it and now she loves the detector and the coil. I also like the Eurotek, so much so that I am going to get one for myself with the 8" coil and the 5" coil. It is an easy to use fun detector, good depth, seems to be made well, accurate id, light as a feather, the iron feature works great. I think that your wife (and yourself) would be quite happy with one. We got our Euroteks from Bart of Big Boys Hobbies, he's a good fella to do business with.

Maybe I'll try one with the 8" concentric coil first to make sure she likes it. If she doesn't, I'll take it over and add the 11" and keep it for myself! lol. How much extra to buy the 11" DD coil? Anybody know?

If I'm not mistaken a dd coil costs 179ish.
I was thinking maybe just to buy another eurotek pro with the dd to go with the 8in I have.
