Hi all,
Well I am pretty excited in the promise.
You can take it to the bank because it is good.
Good as God's Word!
What I like best is Christ does not come for us as a
thief in the night,
we are children of the day and not in darkness. Rom 13 :
10: Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.
11: And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.
12: The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.
13: Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying.
14: But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfill the lusts thereof.
In 1Thess. 5 you gotta watch for the
Day of Christ Vs. the Day of the Lord. Two different events, one Savior. We return
with Him in Glory. "Christ in you the hope of glory" Colossians 1:27.
Day of the Lord:1Thess 5:
1: But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.
2: For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.
3: For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.
4: But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.
5: Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.
6: Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.
Verse 4 clearly says the brethren= children of God= sons of God=children of the light. Not everyone has a spark of the divine as is popularly taught and believed. We will not be caught with our pants down and surprised as those who will be suddenly found in destructions. They will not escape. So who escapes? Who is subject to destructions? Who is not? This event affects those on the earth. In verse one it was once quite clear the understanding and difference between these two different events was well known. We are admonished to "watch and be sober" of what? Verse 1. Think sober, teach sober, be sober and fully awake
of what happens
to who.
Day of Christ:
1 Thess Ch 4:15: For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
16: For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
In verse 17 we meet our Lord in the clouds, the dead in Christ ahead of us by a moment. A family reunion. The day of Christ is where we meet him in the
air, Christ is not
on the earth as King of kings and Lord of lords executing his Father's wrath...We are going to a party! A celestial celebration in the presence of God in our new bodies fashioned like Christ's (joint heirs, right?) This day does not happen secretly and we are not 'stolen away' like a thief takes a booty. No. This day is announced, in fact if you answer the phone before the last ring (last TRUMP) you will be able to get passage before THE LAST TRUMP. The whole world will witness the event. God will announce it by command, and He will be heard! Kind of hard to be confused as a surprise like a thief in the night with no warning.
Acts chapter one is where we first learn of Christ's next appearance, it is a promise:
9: And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.
10: And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel;
11: Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.
"shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven" is not hard to understand: in the air first. No mention of his spectacular future return in glory
( "in like manner"), but that is not to diminish his air-born return as mentioned in 1 Thess. chapter 4. 1Thess. Chapter 5 admonished about the knowledge of
what happens to
who. Keep that in perspective regarding Christ's future appearances.
We may be near the transition of a new dispensation and see the signs, but what is written in The book of Revelation are events for those who will be judged among the just and unjust. We are Sons of God, family, joint heirs with Christ not subjects of God's wrath, but of His love. Not as those who will be judged by Works and those who reject God and His Son. As a joint heir with Christ we get everything equal Christ gets from God.
Will Christ be judged? Will he suffer ? Will you? Will Christ be subject to destructions? Think it through because your inheritance through Christ are riches that only a few in the O.T. looked forward to: Justification, Redemption, Sanctification. All yours and to all who do one thing:
BELIEVE.
believe what???
Romans Ch10: 9 & 10
Vs.9: That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Vs.10: For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
