Well, I hope it didn't rain as much as it has in China and other flooded places from too much rain! Heard that buildings in Memphis, TN that were flooded before are flooded again because of heaven rain a week or so ago! The old saying, When it rains, it pours...must be true! It is the same here. The City Hall was shut down. The Police Station lost 17 Motorcycles.Numerous houses were flooded out. Whole areas were copletely flooded out and he Red Cross had to open selters.Even the Natinal Guard was placed on FULL Alert. For Boston that is literally unprecedented. I got stuck in a car in an area that was hit by flash flooding. We were parked in this area near the sea where everyne goes to fish, boat and to visit other peole in the area. That is what I was doing, visiting. I came out of my friends house, got in the car and we sat there for litterally only about 15 - 20 minutes.When we started to actually leave we realized we couldn't because the road was flooded. My friend tried to get us ut because we saw the water rising "quickly". When he did the car stalled.As we tried to get it going again we saw the water had now literally seen the waer rise up to the bottom of the car doors.Next thng we knew the car started taking in water. We both realized that if we sat there we were going to be in severe trouble.We decided to get out and make our way back to his house.the water was literallyupto our knees. By the time e made in backto his place we were "completely" drenched.I was soaked to the bone literally.I ended up staying there for the night. I got up this morning and the sun was out, the water gone and the parking lot fairly dry.It was crazy. Now this week they are saying the temps are going to be in the mid 90's with high humidity. For Boston this type of weather, thank God, is literally unheard of. And NO Ma my shoes were not dry this morning. Matter of fact they are still not dry. That is going to take a day or two. It was defnitely Heaven Rain of Biblical proportions. Here in Boston we don't even blik at rough weather but this took the cake. It was abslutely BIZZARE.!!! Anyway, I just wanted to let you know what I was talking about ok. I tried to put a humorous spin on it because tht is all I could do. I'd rather laugh than whine.!!!!! Well, you had quite an experience with the flash flooding and now can understand how many can get stranded so quickly when the water rises so fast without time to escape out of it! Many in New Orleans had that and didn't escape but died in the flooding during Hurricane Katrina! Those shoes may be stiff and hard to wear once they dry out, but count your blessings for you and your friend could have had it worse without the protection of God helping you to get to safety!
