Hi guys! 20 year veteran coming back after two year hiatus...

To swing a new Omega 8000 (version 6). I really like this detector and the way it's laid out but I'm not thrilled with the stock 10" elliptical concentric for what I need it to do. I want to do my back yard thoroughly this summer and it's FULL of nails and other iron debris from over 150 years of human habitation. It also has a few old coins, buttons and other cool stuff hiding in there because I did snag a few a couple years ago. I put an ad on the by/sell accessories forum to see if someone would swap me for anything smaller. I'm fully aware of all the coil possibilities as I have been lurking for quite some time. I'm thinking if I stay with a concentric, the 8" coil is the way for me to go as a good all-rounder but I'm no stranger to the double Ds either as I am a former Minelab guy (Sovereign in particular) and that's what I used exclusively on that machine as well as the Explorer/Etracs. This time around I wanted to get a machine that had a faster target response and that was lightweight. The Omega definitely fits that bill. Great ergonomics, features that make sense (and work!), decent depth etc. If any of you guys have multiple Tek machines and have any of the smaller than stock calls your not using or have two of, mine only has like two hours on it. Can't afford to buy anything else outright at this time as funds are extremely limited but I'm just happy to be swinging again! HH George Fatizzi

Fisher has a great new 7" coil. Very solid build and only list for $70 brand new. It's the stock coil on the new F11. I was very impressed with it on the digitek.

It works on omega.

But the stock can do very well. Just take the time and get some targets out of the ground!
