Higher I.D. Numbers with the HF Coil?

Any of you guys getting about a 2 to 4 number jump in target I.D. with the HF 5 X 10 coil? I was just out this A.M. and dimes are reading 40-42, quarters are 46. Nickels are 14. I noticed it when I started digging too many pull tabs reading 10-12 and no nickels, and started finding dimes at 42.
SO I changed the pattern to 1 or just ran in AM mode.

5X10 DD HF coil on a Xterra-70. It reads 14 for nicels, 40-42 for dimes and 46 for quarters. It happens anyplace I detect and an air test at home.
Settings are Sens 20, Noise Cancel - auto tune to 1, Vol 28, Tones - 4, Threshhold 0, GB - auto tune to 51.
Mode - AM and all patterns in AM.

My stock 9" MF round coil reads nickels -12, zinc pennies - 30, clad dimes-36 and clad quarters 42.

Let me know if you need more info. Thanks

Sometimes 32 to 62 just depends. I run at sen. of 28 with the 5X10 DD 18.75 coil on X70. Rest of my setting are close to yours . MY clad dimes are 38. 38 to 40 when they are over 8"s deep, Quarters are 42. 42 to 44 over 8"s deep,Zinc's are 30. 28 to 30 over 8"s deep. Nickles 12. 12 to 14 over 8"s deep. Silver war nickles can be any where 12,14, and 16 depends on how corroded they are. Buffs, 12. 12 to 14 over 8"s. Buffs and V nickles have been the same for me. The 9" 7.5KHz I can't say as I am having to much fun with the 5x10DD even though it does float in shallow water hunting. I just have not used the 9" coil yet as I hunt in the real bad trash and the 5x10 separates better. I did take the the 9" out to my one target I have buried in the ground which is a 8" dime on edge and the 9" hits it at 38 to 40 every time, a nickle 12, zinc 30, dime 38, quarter 42 these are just down on the surface and they are for tone practice so I don't have to use the meter as I get detectors neck and I don't like a sore neck. I use the 99 tones also. What do I think. I think your 5X10 DD coil needs a small tune up. Or maybe you machine needs a tune to the coils. There is no difference in my tones between the two coils either. Hope this helps some . Some times this :detecting: makes me  . HH Later and :goodnight: Jerry aka Tinfoil.

I have found all the HF coils to read a notch higher than the stock 7.5 coils. HH Randy
