hip mount ?

1stdigger

New member
I heard there was a hip mount for the e trac ? If so, who makes it, how much and who carries it for resale ? Thanks, 1stdigger

never heard of that...
you can put the control unit in a backpack or on a sling and connect to the coil (which you mount on a straigthtrod) via an extension cord.
the problem is that no one sells an extension cord using heavy duty cable. i bought a CB radio extension cord that works but the thickness of the cable does not hold up to aggressive use..

i would LOVE to hip[mount mine,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,someone make it work!!!!!!!!!!!

Also look on the detector modifications fourm...you'll have to go back a ways but they had a nice thread on making your own.

i went back 30 pages,,,, did not see it ,,,, must be blind lol

IM GOING HIP-MOUNT!!!! Well chest actually. Emailed Doc and he says this cable will work for the etrac,,,, have one on the way. Have already mounted my coil on an old Tesoro s-rod and have removed the arm rest and base off the upper rod for mounting a sling to. This puts the control box closer to my old eyes and the coil-rod is light as a feather WHOOOOO-HHOOOOOOO,,,,will posts pics when completed

After you're done with your mod, can you please post pics and descriptions?

absolutely,,,,

Sounds interesting, I'm looking forward to seeing the results!

got my cord today from Doc @ coilltek,,,,, this is gonna work out SWEET,,, will post pics this weekend
