Hipmount kit

DrBobinMO

After a several year layoff from detecting for health reasons, my dad is ready to get back in the swing of things. He just got a new E-Trac (was and Explorer user for years) but, as expected, is not as strong as he used to be.

I know there were a few hipmount kits out there years ago and I am looking for info on them. I would really like to get one to help him out.

Any info will be appreciated.

Hey Doc,
Just a suggestion but for the Minelab I would stick with the swingy thingy. I have had a hip mount kit on other BOX type detectors and they mount to the box and strap around the waist and one around the shoulders. But there are no screw holes on the Explorer to mount a hip mount kit to. The Swingy things works much better as it is made more for the Minelab. I made my own because I use a backpack so much in the far away places I hunt and found an ADJUSTABLE bungee cord that I circle and catch on the hand portion of the Minelab. The small Day pack I use is very comfortable and has a great location to hook the bungee to. If I am going up hill I shorten the bungee and down visa versa.
Best of luck to you.
